Latest Fine-Art Videos from Paul Taggart's Studio

"Greetings from our creative sanctuary in the Highlands of Scotland, from where we send our sincere hope that life is treating you kindly and extend our warmest wishes.

In our May e-newsletter we wrote of the arrival of our annual visitors – who have provided us with much enjoyment over the past few months. The Wren did indeed vacate the nest, previously built by the Swallows in a recess deep within the gable-end of our stone-built studio – just in the nick of time and much to the delight of the returning adults. We relaxed on our studio couch, looking through the window, as they restored the mud’n’straw structure – a perfect cup-shape – so worth stopping our work for, believe us.

This Summer our garden has been filled with the joyful chirrups and chattering of swooping and diving fledglings and their parents, as they were taken through their flying lessons and shown how to catch insects on the wing. We can happily while-away many an hour watching these extraordinary winged-creatures; as captured in one of my miniature oil paintings, ‘First Flight’ which has now been added to our site, along with the Limited-Edition Print and this behind-the-scenes video - now added to the Paul Taggart's Fine Art Videos section on our website.

Back to our own happenings, as work continues on all three fronts in our studio and we attempt to make up for time lost to replacing our website.

We’re thrilled to be getting back ‘in the groove’ of our creative cycle-of-life and delight in the fact that we continue to make additions to the site –such as this video, our latest behind-the-scenes reveal, featuring the Masterworks oil painting ‘Brightwater’ – which can be found amongst others on our Fine Art Videos page, within the Paul Taggart’s Fine Art section, along with the Original Painting and the Limited-Edition Print in their respective galleries.

These are not tutorials; they are by way of our celebration of the painting process and an insight into the traditional techniques that are exploited to achieve the finished result I am looking for – each video is an expression of our passion for creativity. Some are accompanied by tunes that represent the creative passion of like-minded musicians, with whom we have had the privilege of working.

We hope that in sharing these behind-the-scenes features we are opening a window into the thought-processes that lie behind a composition and the techniques that go into every stroke of a painting, from the blank canvas to the finished artwork.

Eileen and I thank you most sincerely for your continued interest in our work and for reading about our latest news and happenings.”
