“Work continues on all three fronts in our studio (artworkshopwithpaul Tutorials, Elphen Chronicles and Fine-Art) as we attempt to make up for time lost to replacing our website; so, as you can imagine, we’re thrilled to be getting back ‘in the groove’ of our creative cycle-of-life and delight in the fact that we continue to make additions to the Originals Gallery and the Limited-Edition Gallery in my Fine Art Section.
Amongst the latest additions is one for which we have newly created and recently released a behind-the-scenes video reveal that can now be found on the Fine-Art Videos page in the Fine Art section of our website.
In my work as a Professional Fine Artist, I am not only captivated by the nature of light; water also plays a very important part, it figures large in my work. I am entranced by how water behaves, its myriad qualities and characteristics, all influenced by the elements of nature.
Browse through the Originals Gallery and Limited-Edition Prints Gallery and you will see evidence of this in many of my Fine-Art Masterworks, from the smallest of miniatures to the largest of works.
Even as a child I was fascinated by the sea, a particular joy being that of exploring rock-pools; that moment when you are trying to look through the surface and catch a fleeting movement of something that darts into the weed or buries itself in the sand, perhaps a fish or a crab. Another very strong, memory, is paddling along the water’s edge, then, looking down at my feet in the warm sand, seeing those patterns of light caused by the tiny wavelets on the surface of the water around my legs.
For some while I had been yearning to do a series of paintings of rock-pools and sea-pools and ‘Brightwater’ was to be one of the first for my new 'Pools of Light Collection'. This painting brings both memories to mind; for it not only features those rivulets of light, caused by the surface of the water - it also contains the mystery of a rock-pool - those with a keen eye will spot tiny fish darting around on the sandy floor, as they swim towards their sanctuary of the weeds.
