Our personal COVID 19 OFFER - ALL Painting Tutorials FREE-TO-STREAM
Our personal COVID 19 OFFER - ALL Online Video Painting Tutorials FREE-TO-STREAM, plus May News from Paul Taggart's studio and more ................

Greetings from our Steading studio in the Highlands of Scotland – we do so hope that this finds you staying safe and keeping well. These are definitely not ‘usual’ times and we are all doing our bit to help each other, not just keeping ourselves to ourselves, to help prevent the spread of Covid 19, but in other ways too, where it is in our gift to do so.
Although these are undoubtedly tough times financially for professional creatives, we personally are ever mindful of the fact that this pandemic is proving financially challenging for almost everyone. Which is why Eileen and I made the decision a couple of weeks ago to offer all of our online video painting & drawing tutorials on Vimeo as FREE-TO-STREAM - part of our effort to help support those who already paint and encourage others to take up the art of painting, not only as a pursuit, but for its invaluable therapeutic benefit.
That’s 65 box-sets of comprehensively detailed series, workshops, colour mixing, topical techniques, equipment focus, out and about with Paul etc. featuring nearly 700 individual videos – so ......... please do let your friends and family know about this, they might as well get the most out of our FREE-TO-STREAM tutorials and who knows, your ‘nudge’ might stimulate them to start painting - how lovely would that be? - look out for the COVID 19 OFFER title on the poster thumbnails :)

Please do go and have a look at our latest releases on the first page of our On Demand section (on our official Paul Taggart account on Vimeo) – you will find something quite new and, we hope, magical, for everyone to try. The Elphen Tutorials, our latest addition to the ever-growing catalogue of Paul Taggart’s Elphen Chronicles videos (also FREE-TO-STREAM). When we released my first Elphen Chronicles back in the nineties, one of the watercolour paintings in that book was the subject of much interest – a full length portrait of the three Elphen Warriors, Serpentspear, Thunderaxe and Bloodsword – for which I was asked time and again, how had I achieved the transparent, ethereal wings.
So ... we thought we’d share a method of how to paint the transparent, opalescent wings of Webstrand, the Tooth Gatherer (the subject of my second book – for which we have produced and released the Artist’s First Edition Video-StoryBook version, available on vimeo). There are eight detailed tutorial videos in this box-set, the first four of which take you step-by-step through a full figure study of Webstrand, with another showing how to paint her wings when fully opened, one on how to paint the Elphen Tooth Gatherer’s Pouch, another showing Webstrand’s elegant hands on which she wears her Elphen Eye-Ring and finally a fourth, depicting the Rememble and Forgettle Dust Shakers, which protect the Elphen secrets. And do watch out for the Glass Mouse !
Have you seen our other FREE-TO-VIEW and FREE-TO-STREAM Elphen Chronicles box-sets, plus individual videos featuring Masterworks oil paintings reveals, watch-along as I paint videos, behind-the-scenes films, trailers etc.? Not yet? Well .... we’ve just added another three Reveal videos, in which I share an insight into each of my three Masterworks oil paintings ‘Starway to Shimmistra’, ‘Webstrand, the Tooth Gatherer’ and ‘Webstrand’s Gathering Swarm’ along with a walk-around plus a stage-by-stage reveal, all accompanied by some of the wonderful soundscape composed by our Music Director, Liza Mulholland. We’ve also converted our box-set to FREE-TO-STREAM for the filming of me working at my easel on ‘Starway to Shimmistra’ – if you’re interested in peeking over my shoulder as I work-along, this is a perfect chill-out series.
So kick off your shoes, sit back and relax in a comfortable chair, pour a glass/cup of something cheerful, hit the play button and catch up with all those who continue to ‘elphenate’ along with us, bringing the Elphen to life through their individual artistic skills – which, as they know, we hugely appreciate. How fortunate we are to have such talent collaborating and working with us on Elphen Chronicles!

Don’t forget about our first Start-Art box-set (as written about in our previous newsletter) and of course we are still accepting requests for individual unique codes to download the FREE-FOR-YOU box-set, which continues towards the natural conclusion for each of the four workshops in Watercolours, Oils, Pastels and Acrylics - Episode 20 has been uploaded – that’s a total of $80 worth of downloadable tutorials already out there, so for anyone that hasn’t redeemed their code, we suggest you do so soon, because we will be shutting down the opportunity to request a code for downloads in the not too distant future.
We are filming more FREE-TO-STREAM online videos to share with you in the coming months, so we’ll keep in touch with you by our occasional e-newsletter, if you have registered on our website to receive communication from us.
Meanwhile and as ever, this comes with best wishes from Eileen and Paul – please ....... stay safe and keep well.
